Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) has announced The Exeter as a new supporter of its much‑loved Acting Up programme, which has been designed to promote creativity, wellbeing and social connection for people aged 55 and over.
The partnership builds on many years of support from The Exeter, and represents a shared commitment to improving health, confidence and connection among older adults in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
Acting Up offers weekly creative drama-based workshops that help participants build friendships, learn new skills and plays a vital role in combatting loneliness and strengthening community wellbeing across the city.
Alongside its support of the project, The Exeter will also remain as Corporate Members of TRP with benefits including complimentary tickets, exclusive access to TRP spaces, and behind‑the‑scenes opportunities.
Lucy Howe, Director of Partnerships & Philanthropy for TRP, said: “We’re incredibly appreciative of The Exeter’s long‑standing support and are thrilled they will be championing Acting Up. This programme changes lives, helping older adults stay mentally and physically healthy, and we’re looking forward to working alongside The Exeter on this really meaningful partnership.”
The Exeter is a long‑established UK mutual insurer specialising in health insurance, income protection and life insurance. Isobel Langton, Chief Executive Officer from The Exeter said: “We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Theatre Royal Plymouth and to extend our support to its Acting Up programme. Supporting initiatives that make a genuine, lasting difference within our communities is hugely important. We’re incredibly proud to be part of a project that champions creativity, connection and better health for people across Plymouth and the surrounding areas.”
