Cancer awareness month

As we mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and look back on Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September, we want to take a moment to raise awareness of these two conditions that affect so many lives. Whether it’s through early detection, treatment, or recovery, we know how important it is to keep the conversation going.
X amount of our members made claims for breast cancer and X for prostate cancer…
To show our support, we’re donating to our charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support, helping fund vital services and research that bring hope and care to individuals and families across the UK. For every member who reads this month’s Your Member Roundup, we’ll add to our Macmillan donation on your behalf. We know our members care deeply about health and wellbeing, and we’re proud to stand alongside you in supporting this cause 💚.
In this segment, you’ll find helpful resources, member stories, and ways to stay informed. Thank you for being part of our community.
Cancer awareness months are vital reminders of the importance of catching cancer early when treatment is most effective. There are lots of screening programmes across the UK that are designed to do just that. Here are some examples of what’s available.
Breast cancer
Across the UK, women over 50 are invited every 3 years for breast cancer screening.
Prostate cancer
There’s no national screening programme for prostate cancer, but PSA testing is available and encouraged through your GP.
Why it matters
Early detection means treatment can begin sooner – often before symptoms develop. It improves outcomes, reduces the need for intensive treatment, and saves lives. If you’re eligible, we encourage you to take up your screening invitation or speak to your GP about your options.
